Thank you for your interest in Shalom House. It’s taken us some time to develop the project  and we are now pleased to provide a full outline of  this initiative.

We hope that you will be able to get involved in one capacity or another  as a volunteer here in the UK or joining us in Ghana to be a blessing to those who will benefit  from the project.

The vision is to create a facility for girls aged 13 – 23 who are currently involved in prostitution in Ghana to undergo a process of rehabilitation through counselling, health screening and  skills development. All of this will of course be provided in a loving  and nurturing environment – one which they may not have previously experienced. We  will be recruiting local staff and international volunteers to help us achieve this and details of how to apply will be posted shortly.

You may be wondering what shalom means.  Shalom  is the Hebrew word for peace. Not  just simply peace; it is a complete peace.  It is a feeling of contentment, completeness, wholeness, well being and harmony. This is what we are seeking for every girl that walks through our doors.
